I just wrote a nice long review, hit post and lost it to my dead connection. Don't you hate that? Here we go again....
After seeing stores.blairrock.com/ named dropped in another thread, I decided to give them a look. I didn't like the size of the thumbnails, but they had a nice variety. The descriptions sucked me in and made me want to buy! They are really good. They obviously know their stuff. The prices can't be beat! Very reasonable, even for small slabs, I thought.
So, I dropped a dime for 11 slabs. A very nice variety of hard to find stuff. Communications after purchase left a lot to be desired. I never got a shipping email with the tracking. I got a 5.00 rebate for shipping and didn't know why until I got the box, which was a little slow getting here. I am used to much quicker shipping. This wasn't s l o w, but not quick, either. I received the SFRB in good shape, no rattles. They have obviously shipped a lot of rocks! NOTHING brings home small size slabs like a sfrb stuffed with 11 slabs and freebies! Although I did read the accurate descriptions of size, it was still a bit of a shock. But, I am happy with fairly priced slabettes. I think all but one or two will make at least one great cab. The others were a little bigger. The pictures were not obviously photoshopped, but they were a bit optimistic. The slabs in hand were darker, which is usually the case buying online, I guess. Nothing really fraudulent or anything, just a little off. Even so, they were all good slabs. I don't know of any place to get such a variety of reasonably priced stones.
So, I do recommend them with a few caveats- pay attention to size, note the pictures are a little brighter than the actual stones, they don't ship in a hurry and communication isn't the greatest. None of those things should stop you, though. I give purchasing a solid B and the slabs a solid A-. I will buy again and I will go back just to read descriptions.
eta- 10 of the 11 were agates (all were labeled)
Royal Aztec Lace Agate
Confusion Agate
West Texas Capillary Agate
St Johns Flower Agate
Marcasite in Agate
Nova Scotia Red Flame Agate
Brenda Agate
Mexican Flame Agate

Orpheus Agate
Nova Scotia Golden Flame Agate
