Had a good day, even though a couple of those soft ones were making me crazy. The 2 soft ones are new to me. Primordial stone- softer than Indian Paint Stone and red/green blanket stone or Inca Stone. I did one of the latter before and failed miserably. Second try.... not much better, IMHO. The white part is worse than trying to carve soft butter, then the colored parts are MUCH harder. Man, oh man, is that some difficult material to work with- for me. The prehnite is new to me, too. Very pitty. Not thrilled with it. Polished nicely, though. Anyways- here they are. I always try to do at least one giveaway. I believe this is Maury Mountain. The adjacent areas were bright forest green. I'm not sure, but I think this is Stoney Creek, right?? Nippomo Marcasite. This was a scrap in my scrap bin. WHAT? Now it's a cab. Even has some druzy. prehnite I think this is the last of that pink Tiffany. Also the most solid. OJ that looked much better before the grind. Oh well. Peanut obsidian A better OJ- crappy pic. Outside pics will be better. The red/green blanket jasperfanatic sent me a piece to play with. I got some rough, too. I really like the looks, but I need to figure the best way to work it. It FINALLY took a bit of polish at 100k the primordial stone. My other preforms are much nicer. I am considering a sealer for this material. I like it, but it is more matte than Indian Paint. Thank for looking. Granddaughter is going to her prom tomorrow night. Busy day tomorrow.

The Nipomo and Peanut Obsidian are my favorites.
Soft stones are a PITA, aren't they? Try polishing them with some Zam and see if it helps at all.

I'll probably try some Zam, but I doubt it will help the primordial stone.

Great work as usual and a lot of diversity of material. I always work on Nipomo last because it makes a mess. I prefer the Nipomo that has contrasting material like your cab. All metallic isn't as interesting.

Digging that peanut obsidian and the last OJ. I've tumbled the marcasite before, but didn't know what it was until now.

Wow, I love the Nippomo Marcasite! You sure have some great scrap over there! Although I'd have a difficult time deciding for a fave between that one and the primordial stone. I actually love its matte look. It's so different from the others, more natural... well, primordial. Surely lives up to its name! Great work, as always. You rule!
