My wife had a citrine point which she has metaphysical interest and is one of her birthstones and it went missing. I ordered a new point on Etsy. The cost was $8.49 plus shipping. The point is about an inch long and 3/8 inch in diameter. It is nice and probably as described.
It was packed in 6x6x6 box which in addition to the point the following was included:
1. A faux suede pouch to hold the citrine. 2. A small polished piece of aventurine with a little mesh bag to hold it. 3. What looked like a Hanukah candle. 4. Two cards each describing the metaphysical qualities of the stones. 5. A business card. 6. An invoice 7. Lastly a short hand written thank you note.
Every component was wrapped separately in tissue paper.
I'm speechless. I sent out orders 10 times as large in a padded envelope and went over the cabochon standard by putting the cabs in a decorative box just big enough to hold cabs. No invoice, no business card, no thank you note. I do thank everyone who purchases with an electronic message and information stored electronically like invoices are easier to find, less likely to get lost and save trees.

Wow, for an $8.49 order that is awesome. Maybe the extra items are something she does for first time customers? Would be hard to believe she does that for every order. If she is trying to turn this into a full time business, if it is not already, this could be a smart move. Any time someone feels like they got a little more than they paid for it makes them feel good and hopefully leaves a lasting impression. When I had my home improvement business I would always try to do a little something (oil a squeaky hinge, tighten a loose screw, adjust a cabinet door, etc.) extra for customers I valued. In reality it cost me nothing but a couple of minutes and any materials needed were consumables I already had on the truck. It certainly made a positive impact and I'm sure it was a significant reason why I had so much repeat business.
