After seeing the thread dirtyoldrockhound did on repurposing old keys, I decided to try and do something similar.

I made a bezel cup and soldered it on to the base wires because my fingers are just not as dexterous as they once were and I was worried the opal wouldn't be secure enough.

After uploading the picture, I can see I need some more finishing work on the swirls. I used LOS as a patina and it's showing up as copper colored on the bottom of the key, but in hand it does not show copper.
