This is a necklace and earrings I just finished. The stone I got from Sands. The beads are almost, but not quite, the same colors as the stone. This was my first try at making earrings. I have to rework them a bit, but overall I am happy with them. Pics would have been better in natural light, but it's past darkthirty, so had to go with the lighting I had. llana

Thanks all. I am pretty pleased with it.
Gaeter, those are not spheres, they are large beads. The ones closest to the clasp are 10mm, the next ones are 8mm, the next 10, then the last 8mm.
Kim, it hits right about where the cleavage starts. Or would, if I had any cleavage! ;D
Sands, ever since I got that stone I have wanted to do something nice with it. I was sorting through all my beads the other day with another project in mind. When I came to those beads I thought, "Hmmm, those might work with the Storm's Comin' stone". Laid them all out together and they worked. Of course, I had to string and restring a number of times to get it right.

Those are beautiful, you did a great job on that. Don't feel bad about having to redo it, I have been making beaded jewelry for probably 30 years and I almost always take it out and redo some part of the jewelry.

Well, ya'll are blowing up my head so much with all these compliments, I'm gonna have to wear a hat to keep it all together! ;D
Tami, my intention was to make a knotted necklace, but after stringing and knotting and having it almost done, I discovered the beads had such big holes in the, then knots were slipping up into the beads. So, I untied all those knots and started again tying bigger knots. Still not big enough, untied them all again and started over just stringing the beads! Course got almost halfway done and had left a bead out way back at the beginning! GRRRRRR! Took forever, but finally got it finished! Still want to do a knotted one, but sure will check out the bead hole size before I start the next one!

Wow Llana, great job! I do agree about redoing the earrings though, you should try to get one of those long silver beads on them. Maybe start with the bigger bead on the bottom, then the long silver and then the smaller ones. Just a suggestion though, you did an awesome job. You're getting very talented with this stuff.

you should try to get one of those long silver beads on them.
That's what I wanted to do, but the pins I had were not long enough. Remedied that today when I went to the craft store and got some longer ones
Tweetie, I got the idea for a knotted necklace out of a book I have. I really like the knots, so don't want to replace knots with seed beads or anything. I want the knots! But, the seed beads may work to keep the knots from sliding up inside the beads with big holes. I'll have to try that!
