oooooooooooo i'm liking this cord thing you got going on! fabulous set of style! you've really got the shades of cord to match the stones, beautiful work! love the cabs, Kim! my favorite of the bunch is the shorter black and white (agate?) oval, but they all are superb! now we know what you have been up to besides reading your saw manual. how is that going btw? Good balance in colour, and bead distance from metal. Jewelery always looks good in odd numbers.

thanks all - i like the pre-made necklaces as i can work alot faster and it gives me some stock for the "younger crowd". it won't speed up the wirewrapping but makes me think i've accomplished something ;D.
the beads on the necklace with the petrified wood are picture stone, bone, s/s, citrine and i am not sure on the heart beads (my daughter threw them in at the bead show - they could be mook based on where i remember them being on the table - only a couple of them show other colors besides yellow and i didn't use them on this).
i got approval from my 6 y/o and a 26 y/o on the other style - now i just need my friend's 16 y/o to give it her stamp of approval and i'll know which colors/styles the younger group likes best. so far they like the bright colors the best.

Kim those are awesome!! Where did you find those cords, I really like the looks of them. The beaded heart necklace is just "wow" what did you use to shape the heart? Do you have a drill press for drilling the holes? I've drilled a few by hand with the dremel but it takes forever and it's hard to keep the dremel lined up straight. Excellent job!!
Cher
PS ... Rose, show us your work. We all had to start somewhere and if anything some of the better wire-wrappers can give you some hints.

cher i shaped the heart on my grinder and drilled the hole with my dremel drill press.
i got the cords at the bead show from megan fu oldfield. she has a website (www.meganfudesign.com) but the cords aren't on there. her e-mail is sales@meganfudesign.com or you could call her at 901-737-0477. the ones i've got shown there are the knotted cord, braided silk, and braided leather.

Beautiful, Kim. It's more fun when you already have the necklace done, huh? That's the route I'm going. Every time I try to bead or braid a cord myself, I don't like it. I love the deep blues and greens, is that Labadorite? and I like the wrap on the leather cord, I'll be stealing that one Bravo! cookie

cookie it's spectrolite which is a form of labradorite but in a black base instead of the brown. those curlies you had on the nellie blue flint gave me that idea - so you are responsible for that ;D.

I was once told by a jewelery design plagurist, Imitation is the greater part of flattery and never steal a bad design. That design has some really good fundamental basics that really work. Cookie, you have good taste.
