I found a scrap and haven't worked on it for a long time. After shaping, what grit to start on? I remember how soft it is; 1200 take out any scratches?

I usually start on the 220 soft and go from there. Some pieces are a little softer than others, but most are not cutting too much on the 1200. I don't think it will take out scratches other than the 600.

Thanks. I'll start sanding at 600. It's an uneven piece that I'm going to even out as a freeform and then face polish it. If it looks good, I'll go back and add a dome. There is a lot of material to remove so I can start at the 220 hard and see how fast it goes.
I'm going to try and do some repairs and see how my thumb holds. Since I'm going through the sanding and polishing on other pieces, one more dop stick.
