Here’s a picture of my first cabachon thanks to the class I took at San Diego mineral and gem society last week. I’ve always enjoyed tumbling rocks but found this to be quite rewarding too. One more hobby for me! Next I need to learn to take decent photos. edit: I’m still terrible at identifying anything but was told this is silver onyx.

Nice first cab!
Your photo is well lit. The cab takes up about 3% of the are & 97% is background. Crop it tighter. We don't care about the background. Lynn

Really nice job on that first Silver Lace cab! Your picture is good. Just crop out most of the background and the resulting photo will be a larger cab for us to see.

Great job, and take advantage of those classes, this is a difficult (but rewarding) thing to teach yourself. This forum is amazing too!
