Well, I had a pretty good couple of days of rock hounding! The trip to Tee Pee Canyon was good, I have a ton of pics to post but need to catch up a little on work so I'll do them later. The private land trip was ok, I found a couple of Fairburns and a ton of what we call signers- which are basically just agates with some white fortification windows or patterns. Got a lot of sun, spent some time with a friend and my son and met a guy who works in a rock shop in Custer, South Dakota who also makes a lot of jewelry so I got some tips from him. Oh, and I met my first rattlesnake out on the private land. We got up close and personal! Anyway, here's a couple of pictures From the private land first A section of baculite my son found A cool cactus wall

Appears to be some nice flash in the baculite.

Appears to be some nice flash in the baculite. There is a ton, I didn't take a very good picture. I'm thinking about getting rid of the sand and stuff in the middle and giving it more exposure. It's honestly the first one I've ever seen and I'm curious. Then of course the tumbler in me now wonders what it might look like tumbled.

I would not tumble it. Do any needed careful polishing with dremel. I think it would be much better as a specimen, as is.
