That was the first saw I started on. I found, if you put a towel in front of the saw, it picks up the splash out. It cuts wide in comparison to a lapidary saw, but it works. Enjoy.

Stephan, a lapidary saw cuts approximately .007 vs., .18 like your tile saw cuts. To make a great holder for the saw, get a few milk cartons that used to be sold in elementary schools. The small square ones, or something like that. Get some Stucco mix, or concrete. place the stones to be cut in that, add stucco, cure, and cut. The stucco will come off when you cut it further, or cab it. Makes a good simple holder for stones.

Can you put different blades on that or does it have to be a certain kind? It does use diamond blades right?

yea it uses diamond blades but if you can find a thinner lapidary blade thats 7 inch it would cut even better -- but thats the prob lapidary blades are mostly 6-8-10-12-14- so its not easy to find a lapi. blade that size but im sure there out there

I did find another blade for it- But the darn thing was $45 bucks (bear in mind the saw cost me $88) It was only like 1/32 thinner- Oh and the towel thing works great! Thanks.

My wife came home with that same saw also today for my valentines gift (what a woman) I was wondering about the differant blades too. Home Depot sells two other blades, for $23 and $45, although I don't know how thick they are. Could you put a 6" on it and have it work ok, not just as deep of a cut?

I'm kinda a nut when it comes to my rock shop- I clean everything up after I finish cutting- Plus I'm limited for space so I need to stay organized!
