Hi all. Since all my tumblers are mid cycle I don't have any rock pics to put up. But I thought I'd help KD and anyone else with cabin fever with some pics of winter, Calif style. Hang in there people, spring will come to your area soon. Along our back fence. The rock wall was built before I got into this hobby but have checked them all out-nothing worth tumbling. Daffodils are up. A fountain I made for my sister-in-law Not sure if you can see them, but the bottom bowl is lined inside with rocks that didn't quite make the grade, but they're shiney when wet. Caught him just as he was making his getaway. That's Pugsley, and yes, he has a sister named Wednesday. And a close-up Hope this helps all who are seeing nothin' but white. Ed

I wish I had a camera. My bananna tree is growing new leaves, the marigolds are about 8" high, the passion fruit is blooming. Not having any snow down here is miserable. Hard to sleep at night with the crickets chirping, and the tree frogs squeaking.

Oh how soothing. I have to admit, I never did care for the crickets and tree frogs in TX. But I do love the sound of water. I have a little waterfall on the table next to my bed for white noise at night. My kitty, Miles, will come say hello to me first (just to be polite) then he has a long drink fom the fountain. Best of both worlds here. Gotta love it.

Yes I don't have a digital camera, but the trees are starting to bloom here. There are lots of orchards around us so not quite sure which ones are blooming now, but they are all over. We also have a few flowers popping up in the front yard too. A friend of mine planted them so I can't even tell you their names. Past time to mow the grass too, and the weeds put everything else to shame. They are a couple of feet tall already

Flowers! I start a lot of plants indoors under the growing lights, and it's still to early for that here. (next month, must stay away from the seed packets till next month) Maybe if the weather cooperates, in three more months the daffodils will be blooming

Well we just got a small snow storm yesterday and it is still hanging on this morning. I think our rose bushes are trying to bud some leaves, but that is about it. Tami

Spring?.... what is that? We just got a half foot of snow lately and now it thawed & froze again - big skating rink again. Didn't get to go on the longest skating rink in the world yet - I miss beaver tails (do you guys below know what those are? yummy Maybe it's a Canadian thing - beaver tails & poutine). In Canada we have 4 seasons. Winter, still winter, almost winter, not quite winter - summer lasts a day and a half, if you blink or sneeze you miss it! (global warming my @$$)

Beaver tails- Umm I have heard of those on the CB but I don't think it is the same thing I'm only 1.5 hours south of the Candian boarder and I don;t know what they are- Sooo what are they?- Oh in WNY We have 4 seasons too- Winter, more winter, even more winter, and road construction!

Beaver tails are maybe called Elephant ears elsewhere, they are dough that is flattened to look like a beaver tail - these are deep fried quickly, then brushed on one side in butter and dipped in a cinnamon sugar mixture and drizzled with lemon juice (the best ). Others instead are spread with jam and they have other toppings, but I always get the one with cinnamon sugar (they're extremely messy to eat but well worth it). Poutine is french fries, with cheese or cheese curds and then drenched in sauce - yummy - but I think that this is a french-canadian thing - mostly available in Quebec, it's delish - also excellent with chicken & white sauce & mozzarella cheese Gosh, now I'm hungry...

People here talk about us having 4 seasons; June, July, August and winter. Ron

We called them "Toads" when I was growing up cause when they fried they'd get all bumpy. They sell it at the fairs here ... as "Fried Bread". ;D No matter what you call it ... it's definitely yummy!!
