Hi! I’m new to rocks, recently purchased a Lortone tumbler and now looking for something to cut rocks with. I’m in western North Dakota so everything I want to cut comes from here and along Yellowstone River in Montana. Agates, jasper, petrified wood, etc. Would the saw you have available be a good choice for a beginner? All my rocks are quite small and I hope to make jewelry. Thank you for any advice you can share!

Hi there, and welcome to the wonderful world of rocks.
The Lortone saw would let you "slab" rough approximately 2-1/4" thick - more if you flip it over to finish the cut. Then trim shapes you want from the slices. This one does have a simple vise for slicing rough.
Shipping to your location would add a bit (as noted in the original post) to the price, but it would be a good saw for small stones. Motors are heavy, so I'm not sure how much it would be.
We would also have to pick the saw up and pack it for shipping for our friends, as we did for the flat lap that already sold. Not the "two-day delivery" we're all so used to getting from online dealers, but we'd get it to you as quickly as possible.
