My apache tears arrived last night, and I was pleasantly suprised at how many were in the box. Here are some pictures. Smaller rocks that I will be able to just put in the tumbler. larger ones I plan on cutting on my saw. Tami

hey Tami, you may want to keep a bigger one or two (or three) in there, those look like fabulous Tears. if you get those just right they are the most beautiful stones. soft tho, like Obsidian and will lose a lot of material in the first stages. although those look nice enough to start in 220.
PLEASE show us when you are finished!

i have a nice bag of them here that a buddy sent me there smaller then those but i had the ones from the first rocks i ever did it was a batch of those and last time my daughter was over she said dad i allways wanted them,, so you know i gave them to her hahaha--but they come out great if you take your time and after 60/90 use plenty of pellets in each stage

I don't think I'd cut the bigger ones. They are sooo soft, you are gonna loose alot in the grinding/shaping proccess, and they aren't really That big... cookie

I've got some that I got from Mike but I'm almost afraid to tumble them. If they are soft, would it be a good idea to use plastic pellets, even in the coarse stage? I'd sure hate to have them fracture.
