As I've posted before, my wife started collecting cabs way before I started cutting them. I don't know much about Clay Canyon and never had a slab. I looked around the internet and it shows what a good eye she has. She did the design for the recut and probably worked with me to get the shape right. Now that it is done, I don't know if she wants to keep it or sell it and I have no idea how to price it. The closest material I found to it on the web was on a postage stamp. I keep after her to do some design work but the best I can do is show her a design and she says whether she likes it or not.

I'd have a hard time pricing it, too. No idea. It's beautiful, though.

stardiamond Nice stone. However what intrigued me was the dop stick in images 3 & 4. What are you using there? I would be interested in knowing how you came up with that configuration if you are willing to share. TIA

stardiamond Nice stone. However what intrigued me was the dop stick in images 3 & 4. What are you using there? I would be interested in knowing how you came up with that configuration if you are willing to share. TIA I make dop sticks with 3/8 inch dowel and nail on chair glides of different diameters. I typically use superglue to attach to the cabs. If I can't get the glue off the dop, I can grind it off. Between the dop and the cab is Scotch double sided outdoor mounting tape. I tried it for cabbing with mixed results and still use it for special situations like polishing a cab back where I don't want to use glue on the face. What I am using the tape for now is photographing cabs. I find I get better pictures of a cab on a dop than on a cab stand. The lighting and colors are better. I attach the cab to the dop with the tape, take a picture, peel off the tape, repeat on he next cab.

Love the Clay Canyon. You did it justice. I acquired a museum quality slab a few years ago and gifted it to a friend, he will enjoy it more than I.
