Picked up at a gold/silver mine that closed around 1907. From the exterior appearance, was hoping for more green streaks. Soft, porous (hard to get all the oil out of it) and lots of fractures but might be able to do something with it in the future. The closeup shows flecks of what might be gold? (My crappy phonecam and low skill level don't really bring out the color.) Don't know much about this but seem to recall reading that pyrite is also common in gold-bearing rock? from a mine:

Very pretty colors and patterns. I hope some is solid enough to polish - looks like it would make attractive cabs.

That is pretty. Was it also a Turquoise mine? Not that I know of. The nearest source of turquoise that I know of is about 100 miles from there.
