I hope I don't get kicked off the forum, but i do post a fair amount of tumbled stone. So I hope you'll excuse a cab every so often. I was so pleased with this I just had to share it. Goldstone is just so easy to work with and I had a slice so I tried something a little different in the way of cabs. And since I post a cab a while back I remember someone saying that they wanted to see it once I got it wrapped. I wanted to sell cabs on my website, but I end up wrapping them all. You catch that John? So here it is wrapped as well Thanks!

I posted a different one before, and it is next to be wrapped, but this one I did last night and my website is the next stop for this piece. Unless my daughter confiscates it. She is my best advertising Ha Ha Ha! I think she has about half my stuff. But she keeps bringing me people that want something done, so she can take as many as she likes.

Wow!! That is a nice cab, and a great wrapping job! My grandmother gave a necklace made of that to my mother who gave it to my sister's daughter since she was the first grand daughter. I tried to talk her into giving it to my daughter, but no luck And it wasn't nearly as nice as this one

Very nice job Banjo. Is the wrap your own design? Really creative and eye-catching.

That's fantastic. can you post a picture of the back? I'm experimenting and never know how to finish off the back with the remaining wires.....

That is absolutely stunning! WOW is definitely fitting. Can't imagine why you'd think that posting that would get you tossed off the forum. It fits right in and it's gorgeous.

Here is the back. Not as pretty as I'd like, but it doesn't snag anything. It is my own design and it sort of evolved once I started. My vision for it was a little different, but I'm happy with it. I just don't want to dominate a tumbling site with cabs and jewelry I guess. Maybe we could have Mark start another page??

wow again! the back is almost as pretty as the front!
i think cabs and jewelry make good postings, everyone likes to look. makes good filler for the far and few between batches that get posted.
Mark already made a misc. department for non rock related issues, i don't think we need to have yet another section.
but that is just me.

Thank you so much for taking the picture of the back. It looks like you did the sides with 4 square wires, is that right? Then the side wrap, it almost looks like flat wire was used, did you hammer some or can you buy it flat like that? Oh, and what gauge of wire is that? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just awed by it, it's really beautiful.
Cher PS I don't think that's necessary, after all, it was a rock once, it's a product of what comes from our rock tumbling. It's a part of a necklace, what we post here all the time. Not to worry Mike, I think it fits here perfectly.

I used 4 square wires .021 and .022 half round for the binding I just twisted 1/2 the length of the wire that would be on the front of the wrap. Half of it stayed square. I started the twisting in the middle of the wire and went to the end. The wrap itself I started on the left side for a change and worked my way over to the right hand side, doing the bail in the middle of the process. Does that help?

You did a great job on that. Goldstone is such a pretty stone, I don't care if it is man made. Tami

Heck Banjo I posted pic's of one of my minerals a while back and I'm still here!! LOL I'm not much on wire wrapping as most of it is too "gaudy" for me but you have captured and framed the beauty of the stone!! Bravo!! Thanks,,,,,, Tom
