Fresh off the saw, oil still on it. Dug this piece last Monday. ETA: there isn't a variation in color intensity on the actual rock; that's just my lousy photo. The left side is representative of what one sees.   |

Boring is no pattern and all one color (usually a baby poop yellow).
That has a nice pattern and colors. I'd say you did good!

I collect a lot of "boring" jasper around here...and I don't find it boring at all. That's a nice piece!

Ok ok, was pretty excited about this particular piece.  Good pattern and above all fewer fractures than most of the stuff I find in that area. I currently have around 400 lbs in chunks ranging from 3" to 6-7". Really need to get serious about digging - the surface and near-surface around here is pretty beat up and the layers of this purty stuff are usually pretty thin. |

Looks like there's some agate in there as well. Exciting & pretty, not boring!
