Fresh off the saw, oil still on it. Dug this piece last Monday. ETA: there isn't a variation in color intensity on the actual rock; that's just my lousy photo. The left side is representative of what one sees.

Boring is no pattern and all one color (usually a baby poop yellow).
That has a nice pattern and colors. I'd say you did good!

I collect a lot of "boring" jasper around here...and I don't find it boring at all. That's a nice piece!

Lol, yeah, LOTS of both monochromatic red and baby poop just down the hill from where this comes from!

Ok ok, was pretty excited about this particular piece. Good pattern and above all fewer fractures than most of the stuff I find in that area. I currently have around 400 lbs in chunks ranging from 3" to 6-7". Really need to get serious about digging - the surface and near-surface around here is pretty beat up and the layers of this purty stuff are usually pretty thin.
