I split the thick variscite slab and made two variscite preforms. I don't see many 40x24 shapes cut, but will give it a try. I made a free from of so so bone, trimmed up a nice piece of Morrisonite I slabbed to dos a design and took a piece of badly fractured Morgan Hill and found a very small solid scene.

I did a little grinding on the bone to see if the white stuff would go away; it did but there were vugs near the point so cut off the bad area and will adjust the shape. The Morgan Hill has solid edges and is a thick slab. It will have to be a high dome and if the one poppy disappears, I'll toss it. I ground off the raggedy edges on the variscite. I thought this stuff was soft. It was slow going on the 80 grit just working on the edges. It's 3/8+ inches thick.
