Had to get a slab of each of these. I've never heard of any of it. It's all from Russia, and It is a bit pricey. BTW we are having another Rock and Mineral show here in town, so I'm like a kid in a candy store. Astrohyllite- Charoite- Fuchite- I've heard of, it's what makes that Green Quartz I have green. Clinochlore- Eudialyte- I can't wait to make some cabs and wrap some of this. I though it was very interesting. See what the Russians have been hiding from us all those years?

They are all about 2 1/2" x 2" and $10.00 a piece. I'm an impulse shopper. I'm thinking 4 to 6 cabs out of each piece. They just really cought my eye.

Way Cool dude. I'm with John, the first two are awesome looking stones. I'm sure you'll do them justice. Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for showing these.

WOW You're killing me. Did you get those at the show? Dang I do live in the wrong part of the country. No wait, I have cool rocks in the summer, I need to be a snowbird and spend my winter's in Arizona .... like that'll ever happen. Great finds Mike, totally awesome and I'm sure you'll do them justice with wrapping.

Hey Michael, I have to agree, those first two are going to wield some terrific pieces! Anxious to see how this new frontier works out.

Very NICE rocks!
The first one looks like it has some type of rutile or needle crystals throughout it..??

WOW, Banjo! Those are great looking! The first one looks like being in a forest of pine trees. I love the second and last - my favorite colors! The third is quite incredible looking - can't wait to see it finished. The green one is nice too, but the others really jumped out at me.
I am sure whatever you do with them will be beautiful! You seem to have that knack!

Boy them russians do have nice stuff- My dad worked oover there for a year and had collected all kinds of stuff for my sister and I- Till he tried to get on the train with it- Seems you have to buy a ticket and pay to get on the train- Well all he had was a credit card and the "security" wanted cold hard CASH So he offers up the "rocks: he collected- they seemed pretty excited by what he had and let him on the train- Minus the rock-Still wonder to this day what was there? Glad to see some of the stuff is making it out of the country!

Hey Banjo!
Way to go there ... those are some beautiful slabs!!!
You got a great deal on the Astrophyllite, there is a rock shop in Kansas here that is selling it 1.25 per gram!
You will have to be careful with this material ... as it is from the mica family. A little too much pressure and you will create a lot of waste. Use extremely light pressure and be patient with this material and you can come up with some nice stones. The larger the better!
Clinochlore (Seraphanite) is another wonderful stone, it too will work up beautifully. Again, take your time with this material. If you try to force it ... it too can fracture along the crystal formations.
Charoite is anther one that you will want to watch. Too much pressure and the purple bands will split on you. When cut right ... this is some spectacular material!
I do not have any experience with the others ... but, they sure do look nice!
Keep us up to date with photo's!
John
