This is the geode my wife picked out at the Gem and Rock Show. It weighed in at one and a half pounds...the inside color is purpleish grey...sorta... This last picture shows a nice clear crystal growing inside the geode.... Pho

Hey Pho, that's a nice Geode. I NEVER tire of looking at Geodes! They are one of nature's more spectacular creations.

That geode is really nice. BE and I debated on getting a geode at the rock show in Fredericksburg we went to in Dec. But decided against it. We had already met the Mex Lace guy and I wanted to save my money for that. We did watch a couple a get busted up. That's kinda fun. You never know what you'll find inside. I have this huge - 6 lb 0 geode that was found up on the ranch I work at. I have been tempted to cut it in half to see whats in there, but it's way to big for the saw and it's just kinda cool how it is. I know that it doesn't look like your geode on the inside though! We don't have those kinds of geodes here.
Pho, the San Antonio rock show is coming up in April. Maybe we can all get together there and go to dinner or something after.

That is a very nice geode. When I see a geode I think of a present, you never know what is inside until you open it. Tami

Cool! And I can bring some of my pet wood and quartz to trade! LOL! Although I am running low on pet wood. It has been my standby for filling my tumblers this winter since the weather has been so bad we haven't been able to do much rock cuttin'. I've also tumbled almost all of my smaller quartz and granite/marble/feldspar I collected last year, but do still have some big pieces. If I wouldn't have had all the stuff I collected last year when I was at the lake for a month, my tumblers would be silent right now. My goal this summer - cut enough rock to get me through the winter! I probably have 100 lbs. or more of rock to be cut! llana

That is so gorgeous inside, what a pretty color. I had a geode once, or rather found half of one. It had black crystals inside, was really cool. You guys are so lucky to get to go to these shows and meet. I am so jealous!! Have fun!

Hello Pho, Don't you just love the thrill of finding geodes like this! I cut a geode from Mexico last year and it had a brilliant deep amethyst crystals that were totally encapsulated by bright red and pink bands. Talk about a gorgeous contrast of colors Thanks for the photo, John
