I absolutely love this stuff, but I am reading different things about it. Some say it's from Australia, others say S. Africa. I'm leaning on Australia since I got it from an importer. What do you guys know?
The mottled looking areas aren't so evident in the hand and the red really pops.

Well this Aussie has never seen it, means nothing though, we don't get to see a lot of stuff that they can get a better price by exporting it.
The primordial stone, I know that because I have collected it, same for the Prase, Pilbara stone same, though funny thing is it comes from several thousand miles away from the Pilbara. It's very hard to get good Mookaite here and almost impossible to get decent Chrysoprase as that all goes to China.

The little bit of online research I did also says Australia:
One site selling a slab narrowed it down to Pilbara, Western Australia. For what its worth.

I haven't seen the good stuff in a long time.

Quite possibly the Pilbara in Western Australia, it's a big mining area with thousands of square miles tied up in mining leases with no access. So unless you had a cousin who had a friend that knows someone whos drinking mate is a geologist you wouldn't find out about it.

We bought some stone last February that was labeled 'Dragon's Blood Jasper South Africa' at the Tucson show. It was in a full 4' x 4' x 4' crate. Here's what ours looks like Perhaps this is yet another case of same trade name applied to two different localities? Where ever it is from, your cab is lovely!

Thank you- that may be. My seller, who imports a lot from Oz says its from there. I'm gonna go with that, even though they could be the same- or not.
