these came from utah - i got these at www.westdesertcollectors.com/ sands has/had a beautiful cabochon he did out of this material. put your pic of that cab on here sands. made a beautiful cab. kim that last pic looks like i've been cooking again lol.

that's about what my child's frozen pizza looked like the other night too lol. take after my mother. i didn't know for many, many yrs that it wasn't standard procedure to scrape the black off your toast and that other families didn't fight for the burnt parts of the roast ;D.

kd yes i will have some slabs up soon. i have only cut some pieces off both the smaller rocks - have no idea what the large one holds inside and can't wait to see. i'm reading that it's a 4-5 on the moh scale. i haven't worked any yet on the grinder. i might need to get some of that polish sands has if it's that soft. i want to do my kitchen countertops in this material - slab it, grind and polish them in the vibrating lap, and have my husband install and grout them. how many lbs of this do y'all think that would take?
sands what is that polish you use? and did you find it to be soft when you worked it on the grinder?

yea its soft it will allmost melt when you try and grind it you can prob start at 220 wheel and go slow it does come out nice when my daughter seen it she loved it and asked me to drill it for her hahaha--but its worth it its very cool looking when done,, i wanna buy acouple slabs from you of the dark stuff
that polish is called M-5 i got it at cyberrockhound.com

Wow , that Picasso marble is quite something. I had a look at their website . Awesome colour !!
It appears that it needs careful handling or like sands says it will melt like butter haha.

Wowser. Very cool looking. If tumbled, not ground, would you start at 220as well? No wonder you were so ancious to recieve it, it's beautiful! And I bet you haven't cut into the best of it yet. Oh, and I married a chef. I'm no fool cookie
