Black Raspberries are here, about 2-3 weeks later than normal. These are located just outside my front porch door.   I looked below the leaves and found these.  Black Raspberries have always been my favorite berries. They make an awesome pie, either on their own, or paired with Currants. Have also used them to make pancake/waffle syrup and jelly. Have been picking almost daily and freezing. The raspberries by my wood shed still have a ways to go. Was looking through old photos and by this time last year, I had picked several quarts.  |

I am so jealous. Our season is so far behind this year that mine have not even started to flower.

Our Berries are late this year also, there are miles of them growing along the RR tracks up on the Mississippi River.There is a 20 ft. band of them between the tracks and the bank !

MMMM. We have mostly strawberries, not that I can get too many before the kids scarf them down.

MMMM. We have mostly strawberries, not that I can get too many before the kids scarf them down. Al My wild and domestic strawberries are now ripe (a month late). My problem is not kids, but chipmunks. They are attracted to the red colour, take a bite and then move along. You would think they would learn that they don't really like them, but nope...Funny thing is both the chippies and squirrels love mulberries. However, something about tomatoes and strawberries that make them bite and spit out. |

Interesting. There are many pick your on strawberry farms by me. I see chippers running around near them, but have never seen a berry with a bite out of it.

Just saw this thread. Hope your berry season is going full swing now. I love love love berries, especially raspberries and strawberries unfortunately the only kind of those I get here are in the grocery store and they taste like they were all picked too early. No flavor.

Tammy's Raspberries did great this year with many pounds harvested.. Strawberries did do well, so had to buy a few flats... We picked blackberries a few weeks ago, got enough for her jelly making..
Cherries didn't do good this year, but the grapes will harvest great though...

I am watching the grapes. Still not ripe yet.
Got about 2 lbs of raspberries so far from my bushes in yard. Harvesting daily.
The storms kind of ruined the plums and apples. Wind knocked almost everything off the trees. Still have about a dozen Honey Crisp apples on one tree. Last year that tree had over 200 apples.
