I had some saved 1200 AO partially hardened slurry from an Apache Tear tumble. Since I am almost out of 1200, decided to use this for some harder 7-7.5, stones/fossils. Even in 1200, there was some Apache Tear dust that had combined with the slurry. The rocks/fossils had a dull shine when I put them in. The hardened slurry had two layers. The top one is white and the lower portion is light gray. Do you think the Apache Tear dust will prevent the 1200 from doing what it is supposed to do? Or will it be an advantage? Everything is in a 3 lb. rotary barrel. Some stage specific plastic pellets. Some photos of the rocks/fossils and pieces of slurry.

I will say that it will be OK, might even shine up better than straight 1200 AO.

It wont do anything bad to your tumble and it's a bit of premade slurry so it should be good. The grit itself might be a bit broken down and worn so it could be a bit finer now than 1200.
