At one point I told you all that I put some of my wrapped rocks on paintings that my sister does and then my dad makes frames for them, well I finally got ahold of my parents digital camera and decided to share with you all what we do together. This first one goes to my sister's dentist. The second one goes to his assistant. This last one is the first one we did, I am thinking about changing this one a little bit and put some stone beads on the ends of the wires like the first two pictures. And here is a picture of my sister painting. Tami

WOW!! Those are really neat, that's a great idea. You sister is very talented and very good with the colors. Really nice frames too, great job to all of you.
How do you attach the stones? Do you glue them on after or set them in the paint while it's still wet? Those are just neat!!

I use 527 glue to attach the rocks to the paintings. If later I find that doesn't hold then I will go to Gorilla glue. Tami

You have a very talented family. I have never seen anything like those. How did you come up with the idea to do that?
Those are truly one of a kind!

My sisters toe painting came about a couple of years ago, I want to immortalize the families hand prints in paint, as you can see this sister can't make a hand print so I used her foot. Later one of my nieces wanted to paint and my sister wanted to do something so I put some canvas down on the floor put some paint on a pallet and gave her a wet towel to wipe the excess paint off of her toe. Told her to dip her toe in the paint and just put it on the canvas. I was wrapping some of my rocks, as I was wrapping the one in the third picture I had made the wire fram around it a little big for a pendant so my mother suggested putting it on one of my sisters paintings so I literally set her up with a lazy suzan under the canvas put a blob of very pale green paint in the center and asked her to paint outward from that point and this is what we got. Because I plan on selling things that each of us seperately and together have made at arts and crafts fairs here in town, I have set up a business called Brewer Designs that way anybody in the family can make things for me to sell for them. Tami P.S. we enjoy doing it and that is all that counts.

Hey Tami,
I have a question for you?
Does your sister paint for other people or does she paint for family only?
See if she would be interested in painting me a 8 x 10 and what would she charge me. I can frame it myself and I would like to have just the painting (without any frame, rocks or wire). I can hang it in my new rock shop!
Let me know. I am not particular of the colors ... just what ever she feels like at the time!
Thank you and thank your sister for considering my request!
John

It would be $15.00 for a painting that size not frame or rock. Tami

Hello Tami,
Tell her that would be fine ... and let me know where to send the payment ... don't forget shipping!
This will make a nice addition to my new shop!
I try to utilize originality in my work ... and your sisters art work will keep me focused on the originality aspect!
Thanks again,
John

Thank you all for your compliments, they mean alot to my sister. BearCreek since you just live in Ulysses I could either deliver it or some weekend we could meet somewhere halfway. If you still go to Garden City alot we could meet up there as well. I don't mind driving, it gets me out of the house. Tami

Tami, those are beautiful! I love the middle one most because I love the blues and purples but they are all awesome. Your sister is very talented! And the wire wrapped rocks in the middle is a unique touch. Very creative and an eye catching!
