Found this in Railroad Buttes, SD yesterday. 99% sure it's a Bubblegum Agate, no matter how bad I wish it were a Fairburn... If so, it's the biggest Bubblegum I've found. Larger than a golf ball. Now I have to decide if I want to tumble, cut, or just leave it alone. I may take a video in a bit to show it off better. Thanks for looking!

Pretty neat regardless.
If it were me, I think Iād do like 1-2 weeks tumbling to just smooth it a bit and leave as is after.

I don't know how to tell the difference between the two, but it's an awesome find!
I think what saxplayer suggested is a good idea.

Thanks Ali. I've looked through his pages before and I think you're right. It would have been a sweet Fairburn though! But it was a fun bubblegum to find!

I've never even heard of a bubble gum agate before. Now I have to add that to the confusion- teepee, fairburn, bubble gum or dryhead.
Really nice find regardless of what it is.

Right? Bubblegums tumble well and can have Fairburn-like patterns. I find quite a few out here but none that size. Yep, Dryheads, Fairburns, even Tee Pees all would be hard for me to distinguish if they were sitting next to each other. Oh, and thanks!
