Type of deal I'd buy even if I was new to the hobby
Might even be worth it to see if the person would ship

I can snag it for someone if they want me to, and hold onto it for them if they make it through STL. Gotta pay me first though to get it

I just bought a new (floor model) at a pretty good discount, but for that price I would still snag that. Not to mention they put "or best offer" in the add. It is not a very big machine and easy enough to move around if you need to. While in no way a perfect machine it would certainly come in handy whether you are a tumbler or want to get into cabbing. At that price you could likely sell it at a profit down the road if you do not find it useful.

Is anyone interested if I get it and contemplate shipping? No clue how it would ship. It’s 10 min from my house

We sold one like that eight years ago for $500. It didn't look as good as the one here.

This is not only a good deal but a great starter machine. I learned cabbing on this machines daddy. The Lortone LU6 and I purchased it in 1972 from a rock shop for $120. The LU6 did not have sealed bearings. The LU6x-120 on craigslist has sealed bearings a large oil reservoir, a large saw table, and is about 2.5 inches longer than the LU6. I used one of these for years until I upgraded to 8" wheels and then I used it just for the saw and various polishing wheels. The only bad thing about it is, it's not made of stainless so you need to clean out the muck and water after grinding. If I were starting out now I would put 6" nova wheels on it. If you decide to stick with silicon carbide dump the cheap Lortone drum for a real 2.5" expandable drum drum it will allow you to slide belts on and off with out removing the drum each time.

Well, my wife read this thread and told me "just buy it", so I left a message with the seller. Hopefully he still has it.
