Beautiful! The scene alone is nice, but your cutting is super sweet.
Did you do that on a flat lap?

I have a Richardson style high speed dry sander that I do most of the flat work on. The bevels happen on a 8" wet flat disc on the end of my Cab King and the sintered wheels for the curvy part. I finish the polish on the 3000 and 12000 soft wheels then onto a canvas with 50,000 diamond paste. Better shine than I can get with the dry sander at 1000.

That's a great piece! Neal has a great claim with the Deer Sky.

I have several large pieces of that material to slab, knew it was Owyhee, was not aware that this particular variety was called Deer Sky. Learn something every day! now if I can just keep from forgetting two things!!

Thanks all y'all. I have had very little time to spend in the shop as the bride and I are selling our house and building a place to retire in. Inspections tomorrow and then on to the new place. I really enjoyed getting to be with the machines for an hour yesterday...

A great idea for slabs where the pattern is too large to cut into. Great work on the bevel edges, clean as a router!
