Great job there, I always liked working Glass type material some has really cool colors and patterns. I made a few points from common opal that were interesting, you might try some of that also. The Opal I had was very user friendly compared to some of the heat treated material I worked that was down right hateful !

I really appreciate knappers, modern and ancient. The skill required to transform rocks (and glass) into points is formidable.
Love the various styles you did.

Great looking points! It's always cool seeing jamesp glass and I adore that little polka dot point in the first picture.

I have two types of common opal that I plan on using to make some points soon - pink Peruvian opal and a yellow/orange Australian.

I think you will like working the Opel, it flakes well but you want to watch the amount of pressure you use and thin the ends first as it can fold easily if you start by thinning the middle.

The polka dot, the crackle, coral, nova and the Montana is off the chart Rick. That tacky glass ain't bad either. Nothing like having a knapper test the strength of fused glass.

Wow, impressive!! This must be really difficult to do - I can't imagine what sort of a skill is needed to make such fine symmetrical points. It would be pretty interesting to see how they are made - do you happen to have a video of the knapping process? That would be really interesting to watch! Thanks!

Great job on all the points. I don't see any blood on the fingers or cuts so you must be very good at knapping. I was told you ain't knapping unless you're bleeding...lol. That was sure the case when I tried my hand at flint knapping. It looked like I lost a cat fight.
I prefer the stone points but the glass is sort of cool in it's own way. That Montana is really cool, didn't know it turned a little gray when heat treated, learn something new every day, right?

I always keep a little superglue and band aids around just in case.

I don't do any videos but there are hundreds on Youtube by others. Sometimes I'll watch one or two for education and motivation. Rick B
