I've seen the awesome pictures of Sands cabs with this beautiful stone, but has anyone tumbled this stuff? This stuff looks amazing cabbed (lucky was the person who named that one! ) Has anyone tried to just tumble it? I can't believe that that stuff could look bad Anyone got pics??

Hey Tweet, I have been kind of hiding lately. I think its time to come out from under my rock. LOL I purchased some unknown rocks in Arkansas last summer and tumbled them. One of them came out to be my favorite but I didn't know what it was. I posted a pic on the board and it turned out to be Porcelian Jasper. Hope this helps... I will try and get a better picture for you... Brett

Those are beautiful KD - excellent work too - but that's cheating I wanted to know what they would look like tumbled not shaped (I'd never be able to do that) tumbling I may be able to handle that - but that rock is awesome!!

define cheating..those are mainly tumbled. not grinded, just cut up. you could get similar results from buying a slab and breaking it up with a hammer and chisel..?

You mean if I bought a slab & hit it with a hammer I could get something like that?? Reeeeeeeeeeeaally? You obviously haven,t seen me swing a hammer! But that stone is amazing - I'm sure it would be more amazing in person - I couldn't even imagine - I just loooooooove the color purple - that looks like candy - I think the first cab I voted on was one of these - Whoever got it should have built an alter to that stone!!

Tweet- get yourself a slab or 2 and tap them carefully with a hammer! Or get a small tile saw and cut them- Yes you can get those results! I have a few Psuedocabs (stuff I cut with my tile saw) in rough right now- I have seen the stuff KD does and thought- heck I can do something like that (until I get my grinder made) I cut a few mini slabs and tossed them in- You can also get Lap cutoffs from some shops- The last assorted bag I bought had 3 actual cabs in it (roughed out) They are still waiting to tumble but the stuff is there!
