Original posting below update.
Deadline for donations was extended, as there was "only" about three thousand dollars worth of donations. I love how much the community is supporting the Opera House restoration.
I decided to put together a very professional looking box, since there was time.
Photos below show the box. I found a nice one for less than $3.00 on clearance. The cover has a hidden magnet clasp.
Size of box is 9.75" wide by 9.16" long by 3.25" deep.
The box will have rocks/fossils to within 1/2" from the top.
I photographed all of the items included. Then made a chart of sorts with a photo, ID of material and location from (if known).
This chart will be attached to the inside cover of the presentation box with removable, archival tape.
Box:
ID Chart:
I need to thank some here for items that were included in the box. wigglinrocks miket Jugglerguy drocknut toiv0 bcrockhound and a former member some might know coloradocliff Without you, this box would not have been possible. If I did not mention you and you see something familiar, please forgive me. I do not remember the ID of who sent me the MI fossils.
I will keep all rocks loose in the box except the spec hemetite. That will be in a bag with a warning that your hands might sparkle if you touch the rocks. There are snack size, plastic bags labeled for all individual contents.
So, any ideas on value?
Thanks

I put together a Rocks/Lapidary box for a local silent auction. Need to assign a value and I am clueless. Items received for the auction usually range in value from about $25.00 to over $300.00.
The box size is a little larger than a SFRB, and Double the height.
Am hoping to get some opinions from those here.
