Hello, I am 16 and my Dad got a rock saw for us to use. I haven’t posted on here in a while. But if you have any of the above material from Lake Michigan, I will pay for it (after seeing pictures, though). I used to live right near Lake Michigan but since I don’t for the past 4 years I can no longer self collect it there. I would like the agate and quartz for tumbling, and the granite for just slabs. (I might make cabs though, it does somewhat interest me. I am going to make a cab out of a piece of shell from Sint Maarten island for my mom). Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I can only pay with cash sent to an address, or MAYBE a check. I don’t have a credit or a debit card, and I don’t have paypal.

rjbud1That's great that you have the tools and experience to be working with stones. I started tumbling after picking up innumerable beach stones and expanded from there. One word of caution on working up that piece of shell -- most people caution against breathing the dust from shells so wear a mask, use water when you are grinding it, and clean/wipe out the water trays so that they don't generate shell dust once they dry. Oh, . . . and show us your stuff with a quick photo upload.

theagatedude.com/Good luck with your search. I'm a big fan of those great lakes agates, etc. Those are lazy looking doggies! They need to be trained to sniff out nice rocks.

I’ve tried everything to upload the images on this forum, but whatever I do, they show up as empty boxes. Here is a link to what I’ve cut and what I want to tumble. imgur.com/gallery/BMGVMEZ

That photo of my dogs in my profile picture is an old one. Sadly, my “big guy” as I lovingly called him, passed away last December. Our only dog now is the one in the picture who is sitting next to the dog on the sofa. His name is Charlie. I’m sure it’s possible to train dogs to look for odd colored rocks and such, but my dog is already trained to find groundhogs, deer, rabbits, other dogs and Fox. He can literally tell what animal is what just by the sound of their movement haha

Hello there! I live about 45 minutes south of Geen Bay, WI. My boyfriend and I were just in Marquette a few weeks ago, we take a few trips up to Lake Superior every year during the summer and early fall. I'd be happy to make a few pit stops to find you some goodies from Michigan and Superior if we head up that way again this year.

Next year I will be on my annual Cape May trip, I will make sure I pick up lots of quartz (it’s very abundant on the beaches there), perhaps for a trade. RJ
