Looks like the entrance to a jungle grotto or underwater cavern! Sure would like to make the trip up there some day before Father Time slows me down too badly. Never been up to Oregon. Worth the trip, and Richardson's is a great place to start - even for those of us that time has slowed down, the Richardsons make it real easy to uncover a bunch of really nice stuff.

Very cool! Cutting eggs is like eating chips, you always want to do just one more...
I took their close proximity for granted this year, thinking they were close so I could take my time and then they closed digging early before I could get over there. Hopefully, they get things sorted out for next year.

Kind of late on hounding the Richardson Ranch now... Only the shop sales exist (Long story) ... No digging, probably for a long time! They do have a stock pile you can look through though..

Yeah, the kids were never as committed rockhounds as was Johnny. Keeping it going takes some effort. Yes, we can certainly hope that things change in the near future, otherwise, it is more than just the digs that will disappear. Fabulous place to visit, and we'll be disappointed if they decide to permanently close.

That's an amazing "fool the eye" piece/photo! It looks like some sort of mysteriously deep, swampy body of water. Easy to imagine a little frog coming up for air!

We went a bit wild at RRR and dig up two buckets of eggs two months ago. Good thing we did I guess, I always thought I could pop up the road and go to Madras. Not so, for now anyway (fingers crossed). I just polished an egg from there yesterday that has pink moss! I have never seen that before. I’d be glad to share a pic.

Casey quit and decided to do something else with his life and John does not have the people to keep it open for digging. the office and rock yard is open. Hope things get better in the near future!

yeah hopefully it sorts itself out. Hard to imagine a shop surviving way out there without the digging part but I suppose wholesale or such would work. Thanks, just hard to imagine Richardson's digging being closed permanently....
