Tried something out of the ordinary for me. I had a few pudding stone end cuts that I would normally tumble completely smooth. This time I skipped stage one and just tossed them in the lot-o for 500, 1000 and polish only. Surprisingly I really like them. They look great sitting on a table. Good conversation pieces. Thanks for looking Chuck

Those are great. The red areas especially.

Thanks for looking Chuck You said 500, 100, polish. Was that 500 Sic, 100AO and polish? I have a bunch of Round Mt Chalcedony that have a lot of Botryoidal and swirl patterns I want to preserve. Was thinking of starting with 220SIC with lots of small filler and maybe for a reduced time run, 3 to 4 days. Then 600SiC, pre-polish and then polish. The only issue becomes prying all of the small filler that gets wedged into the various tight spots on the pieces. Not too concerned about all of the recesses not being polish, it probably does not too noticeable. Thanks Henry

I have a couple of dental picks I use to do the clean out for the tight spots, it is a bit of work.

I have a couple of dental picks I use to do the clean out for the tight spots, it is a bit of work. Just came across these pictures that show the struggle. I use a combination of picks but sometimes they are locked in there so tight I end up breaking the ceramics to remove them. Chuck

Those turned out pretty nice. Not sure I've seen any of those tumbled before. Well done.

Really nice. Liking the "raw" texture.

Those look Good! I don't have any small ones...!! Good or bad problem?? Means hard to tumble any if I don't break them down some how. I threw in one fist sized one in a vibe with some craft store rocks to see how it'd do but was unable to get any shine on anything yet.

Nice material. I think I sold all mine back in the ebay days. Thanks- My goal was to collect a lifetime supply of them and I think I have achieved that. Last count was 8 medium flat rate boxes filled with slabs. Thousands of pounds of rough too big for my saw. Chuck

This was my 120, 500, polish attempted one. Wet. I don't want to smash bigger ones just to have small ones, waiting for a bigger tumbler to do a few that size or bigger if possible. One day hope to get some polished like yours!
