Alright, woodman oops, I mean stardiamond what is it? Looks like a coating of rhyolite on the outside, and some jasper and quartz inside. Hmm... A thunder egg from somewhere. Not silly or frivolous, it's very pretty!

It was described as Butterfly Wing from Mexico. I have seen enough BFW to agree. It weighs almost a pound and the pattern resembles a very Large Butterfly. The size is 4.5 x 3.75 x 1.75" with the back being rounded like a cantaloupe. The pattern may be too big on the face and I'm hoping that it is smaller on the back. The coloration isn't as good as I would like but is better than some BFW I've seen. It was priced very reasonably so I took a chance I'm watching another item a Butterfly Wing thunderegg slice but I doubt I get it.

That second photo looks so much like lips with a couple of very bad teeth that I'd be tempted to keep it as-is for a specimen slab.

My Butterfly arrived today and I didn't know if I could cut it with my trim saw because of the size and the hood on my saw. I cut as deep as I could and rotated the piece. The faced piece is 1/2 to 3/4 inches (difficult cutting perfectly straight) and I trimmed the piece I cut off. I'll need to come with a design for the trimmed piece.
