Holy Shnikeys that is awesome. I don't know what it is, other than gorgeous. My favorite gemstone is opal and this has some opalesque qualities and it has definately caught my eye.
Great work team.
Well, since I'm one of the first on the thread, I'll go ahead and ask........Please show us the back of the pendant!!!
What are your plans w/ this piece?

Yes it was a team effort. John did a great job capturing the 'flash' of that spectrolite, and I was honored to wrap it for him/Chic. That's what it's all about eh?

WoW for the life of me, I can't see how or what is keeping it secured in the wrap. Banjo, you got some secret invisible wire there? I see the one piece across on the bottom front and two pieces on the back, what's holding the top in place (on the front)?

I agree on the wire wrapping, but lately I've seen some really cool stuff and it's starting to peak my interest.
Spectrolite huh? That's cool stuff.....does it tumble well?

Hey Sands/Banjo,
Great work there ... that is awesome!
One of these days ... I am going to have to try my hand at wire wrapping.
Most probably after I get the front screen door installed ;D

That is one beautiful cabajohn/banjowrap! Great job, both of you. And I think I'd put that crystal right on top in the new jewlery box, to flash in her eyes when she opens it. I gotta tell ya, Sands, you got some stubby fingers, dude ;D cookie

The way that stone stays in there is based on how John cut the stone. He has about a 30° angle around the perimeter of the top of the stone. So, if I can get the center wire tight enough around the outside edge of the stone, the topmost wire acts like a bezel and holds it in without covering a lot of the stone. Does that make sense? The main objective is to get the wire on there tight, then you don't have to pull a lot of wire all over the face to keep it in. Just a little edge will do.

I thought that might be it but looking at the first pic, it looks like you can see the bezel completely though it must just be Sands trick photography. *smile* Do you use half-round for wrapping the two pieces together? You are getting extremely good at this, I'm very impressed. Thanks for explaining it. Cher
