Here are 2 slabs and 1 “bookend”. These were among the 1st to be cut with a new tile saw about a week ago. Now all I have to do is polish them. These are rocks that I would normally put under “Show is your specimens” section, because I don’t plan on making any cabs or anything with them. These were the rocks that started it all for me. I will add descriptions below each image of how they started my addiction to rocks . Lake Michigan Feldspar Granite - I found this piece on my only visit to Lake Michigan during my 6 year stay in the Chicago area. I had been wanting to cut it open forever because I always thought it was pretty. This rock is what started my granite addiction. This is a “bookend”. This piece I’ve had since I was about 8 years old, now I am 16. The original rock that started it all. I call it “Sanibel Island Shell Conglomerate”, because my Dad found it under his foot in about 5 feet of water on Sanibel Island. I was originally into shells (and I still am) but this is what made me start turning over rocks, too. I’ve had this since I was 5 or 6. Flash forward about 4 years, I am now 12 and deeply interested in all things military. The rock above and below was found on a trip to Turks and Caicos islands when I was 12. This find, which I thought was a geode at the time, due to a small hole with crystals in it, reignited my passion for rocks. Upon slabbing it, there was a 10mm hole with tiny crystals in it, so I guess it was a geode, but the hole wasn’t in the center. Finally, another view of the Sanibel Island Shell Conglomerate slab.

Thanks for sharing your finds and results with the saw. I only have a few rocks from my childhood, but they are very special to me.
