Anybody have any experience or feedback on the HPL 18" (or 24") rotary flat laps? Been working on plans for an 18", and very quickly getting to the cost of just buying off the shelf (for a steel, balanced, engineered machine, not something I cobble together with leftover 2x4s and drywall screws).
Looks like they have done a pretty good job of copying the Covington unit at a lower price, but wanted to check if any folks have any comments on it.
DISCLAIMER: absolutely nothing wrong with cobbling together with leftover materials laying around, I have done that on many projects around here. Just looking for a solid machine that will last longer than me with the hard work I am going to put on it.
Thanks!

Hi Rodney,
I was at Buddy's house about a month ago, buying some stuff and he had a LARGE flat lap he was trying to sell me since he was in process of moving. I don't think he sold it and brought it with him to Tucson. Get a hold of Dean, he is always in contact with Buddy.
