Here is a leather wrap I did the other day. I made the groove twice as wide and it fits in the way I wanted. I don't like the leather I got for it though. I'm looking for something that is softer and hangs without having kinks or bends. This stuff is kind of stiff. It's a learning process and I thank you guys here for the help and ideas.

That looks nice! I like how the leather sticks out a little.
I think the leather will soften with use.

Yes, I like it protruding outside the stone also. I used your advice from an earlier thread and made two grooves with the twofer bit to get a wide enough groove for the leather cord. Worked perfectly. In the picture, the cord looks uneven on the bottom right side, but its just the shadow that makes it appear that way.

Very nice! It looks great. You could try getting some mink oil and rubbing it into the leather. May help soften the leather up a bit.

Oooh, leather wrap ... that gives me some ideas! What a great choice to frame that stone which has those patterns in it.
