Hi all. I was picking thru the box of rocks that came with my saw and found this wierd looking agate(I think). What's cool about it, it's like looking back millions of years when the rock was a hot liquid and for whatever reason, cooled and hardened like this. There was a definete seam running down the center of the rock, so I used a chisel and hammer and split it. I might just keep this one as is and put it on the display shelf. showing the split line: split apart: another view: And a piece of yellow jasper that will make some nice slabs: As for size, the agate is the size of my palm and the jasper is just a little smaller. That is so cool! An awesome find, I think I'd put it on a shelf too. That jasper is gorgeous, going to get some beautiful slabs out of that one. LOL I think you should do a little more digging too, see what else you find in that box.

Chassroc. It was in a box, or rather crate of rocks that came with the slab saw and grinder I bought last year. My wife works with a lady who has a degree in Geology and said she'd look at it and tell me what process caused the formations on the rock. I found some other nice rocks in that crate that look like they may be some nice stones for either slabbing or tumbling.

Oh, So Yum!!! Not sure what I would do with that, but it's a keeper. My first thought was "what caused that formation?" Keep us updated, K?
