I picked up about 600 pounds of nice rock this weekend and most of it is Picture Jasper; Cripple Creek, Wild Horse, Blue Mustang Antelope and Flower, all picture Jaspers of some sort, and I have a few picks in the Buyers/Sellers Section... ...But I had to share photos of this piece of Biggs Jasper I got out of the guys private stock. I was very impressed with it and when my slab saw comes I may be able to get a few more off of it. But I think maybe leave well enough alone and just polish it. I know I forgot the size thing, but it's about the size of a grapefruit. I just thinks it's awsome. Thanks for lookin' -Banjo

This stuff amazes me, I've seen a few slabs that look like someone painted them, blue sky mountains and all! Nature is fun, and God has quite a sense of style... Marian

Okay, Gaetz, 'Purchased, out of his private stock'. ;D And his private stock is quite awesome, since he has been doing this for about 20 years now.

Very cool stone. It is like a Rorschach test, but using stone instead of ink blots. I see endless images in there, always changing with each look.

WoW!! That's just beautiful. I can see why you'd want to keep it just the way it is but on the other hand I can see the gorgeous cabs too. Just freakin hard to believe it's a rock!

Holy moly - 600 pounds of rock - I have about 13 pounds of rocks and my parents are saying - that should be enough for the next few years - (yeah, they don't approve of my hobby, can you tell?) It is a crazy idea really to pay money for rocks - it's like paying a fortune for grass which is a weed that grows everywhere except on your front lawn - rocks are found pretty mcuh all over for free - except the nice ones are harder to find and may be bought. Hubby freaked out that I paid about $60 for 13 lbs of rock - I can see him dying if I told him I bought 600 lbs - where did you stock this? How do you get this home?

csroc- I got it from the stash this guy has that is all graded and classified. And he has some beautiful stuff, including a shoebox full of fire agates he has collected over the years here in Arizona. Tweetiepy- Its all getting organized on my porch. Here is a shot of about half of it. I just use my little wagon and 4 containers and throw it all in the 4 Runner once it's loaded and bring it on home. I've gotten bins I keep it all in and need to make more room, but that's coming this weekend. -Banjo

Hey Banjo,
So is the life of a lapidary ... polish and keep it ... or ... cut it up and make some awesome cabs ... Hmmm?
Tough decision ... better you than me ;D
Keep that individual close ... you may end up getting a spectacular deal again!
