As per Alice's request, here's a picture of one of my recent pieces. It's made from stainless steel, 24 gauge wire with 1/16" diameter links and 3.5 mm garnets. I have a picture of it modeled somewhere, but it's blurry. Just one of the thousands of things to do with maille Aaron#nosmileys

I just back tracked using the URL of the picture. It's beautiful!
Did you buy those beads or make them yourself?

That's beautiful Aaron, you need to do something like that with little polished stones, that would be neat.

Okay I know I'm old, but I can't see a link or a pic or anything. Is it just me?

OOOOOO nice! I've only just started experimenting with making chains...I really like that design. Any tips on opening the jumprings? I use two pairs of pliers and twist but this is killing my bad wrist (okay...yes I'm falling apart...and I type too much...this wrist is giving my hell lately). Do you have a special tool? Any tips would be appreciated. feel free to IM me if you have a long list.

Thanks for all your comments everyone! Alice - I bought those beads at Ebersoles, couldn't beat 4 strands for $7! Hermatite - For that particular one, I used reeeally narrow pliers. Probably doing the same 2-pair and twist that you're doing. I don't know that there is a better way, but if you're hurting your wrist, you may try looking for a weaker metal or bigger pliers. The added weight of the pliers makes a surprising difference in the ease of opening and closing rings. Also, depending on what you're using, you could maybe try a higher aspect ratio (thinner wire and/or larger ring), but that does adversely affect the strength of a piece. I have something like 25 pairs of pliers for use with different rings, metals, etc., so that would be what I would look at first Aaron
