But then I'm still a new member I hope this isn't too big either - as I scanned them, but here are some slabs I cut this morning. The left four are banded calcite, and calcite onyx (from Utah). The ones on the right are 2 pieces of petrified wood (Utah) and another piece of banded calcite. The calcite is too soft on it's own so I'll be making doublets or triplets out of the cabs with quartz... Thanks for looking! Jeff

Wow, Those pics are huge, but obviously beautiful rock. What do you plan to do with them?

Jeff-
Nice stuff there. Those are really cool, can't wait to see a nice shine on them.
Good to see picts of other treasures that are found locally.
Take care.
Gaetz
Oh, have you had to shovel snow at all this week????

Sorry about the huge picture - I guess I need trim it - though the detail would be lost... The largest slab is just larger than a silver dollar, which I should have put in for perspective I guess - I promise to do better next time Cookie, I'm going to cab them and then wire wrap 'em then the jury is out - my Wife keeps asking if I'll sell them. I suppose I would - though that would be a first for me - over the last two years I've made many pendants/necklaces and a few rings, and one bracelet - all were given away, most to Lori, my wife. I'll post completion pics and makde indiciduals or smaller ones. Gaetz, nope it all melted up here so it was just messy today's really nice though Thanks for the comments, Jeff

Those are some nice slabs. I can't wait to get my rock saw up and running. As for the picture I have found it best to go through my "paint" program and reduce the size save it and then post it to the internet page you used to post. From my scanner I usually reduce it to 50% of the size the first time and then 75% of the size the second time and that seems to work well. Tami
