OK you people have done this to me- I was happy just tumbling rocks and making simple jewlery- See first pic. Then certain members of this board (and you know who you are!) forced me into making what you see in pic 2. Now I am so hooked it is not even funny! Oh and My daughter loves both necklaces and now my wife wants one too (cause someone had to send her a beautifully beaded necklace with plume agate- I am not naming names- but the person knows who they are and they will have to PAY ;D) Thanks for looking- Oh and the second one was made with glass beads, Amethyst, 20 guage craft wire and lots of sore fingers! After talking to poeple on this board!

Hahahahaha yes sir, you are definitely addicted. You have no one to blame but yourself *smile* but it's fun isn't it. I'm very impressed with your necklaces, not bad for a newbie.

This is an addiction that is good for you, expensive but good for you, you get exercise when you go looking for rocks. Tami

Tweet ;D Guess what I downloaded over the weekend- The WIGJIG tutorial! They do have a great site and the info is 1st rate! Ok next up is a beaded choker! I worked last night making the bead pins (50 of em) Boy the last 15 or so went real quick! then I started making my coils for the Jump rings- then my fingers gave up- plus I was jumping on my daughters trampoline and really frigged my back! I wanted to do some rock cutting the week and I'll be lucky to get down to the shop just to check the tumbler!

I'm taking a warm glass class (glass melting together & stuff like that) we'll I've also taken to trying to wrap some of those - although the wire I have is pretty pathetic (florist wire) I have to find a good source of square. twisted or half round wire to get someting decent - but the idea is there and not too too bad. Maybe I could post a pic - glass is after all really, really tiny, minuscule rocks isn't it?
PS: the addiction does not stop, there is no cure (specially when you're really good at it as you seem to be) - no amount of pain killers will help either - but beads & rocks seem to make it all worth while....Good luck & great work Stefan!

Tweet- Post Post Post!!! I want to see some pix! I was a bit shy to post this one as it is my first attempt! I made sure to not get a close up as I did not want to show the tool marks and the mistakes! I started my second piece of jewlery and it is going much better. Practice practice practice! The beads are fun- but my goal is to drill my own tumbled rocks and work with those- just using beads as accents! It is a very relaxing hobby- and allows me to fill in the rainy days while I wait for the tumbler to do it's thing!

I realized that I had a scanner (haven't used it in lots & lots of years) and I may be able to use it to scan some stuff, if I get it back from a friend - since using the digital camera at work has gotten me dirty looks ("I deleted your ROCK pictures") they don't understand - but I may PM you with the pics instead unless others want to get a good laugh out of my work!

Well of course we want a good laugh..ohoh, I mean we would love to see your work, Tweets! I'm sure you are much better than you judge yourself to be. stefen, I love the clasp on the second one. I think maybe I could do that. I need some decent wire myself. Mine is from a kind of "toy" craft set. Well done, dude. cookie

Only thing I would recommend for the second one is to tone down the clasp a bit - it seems a bit too bulky compared to the rest - a little too overwhelming maybe
Just my 1 cent! (Canadian money is worth less!)

Tweet- The clasp is a bit heavier than I would have liked but it was done for strenght I really like making these clasps but they are a bit bulky but they are very strong- I am trying with a bit lighter wire- but they bend way too much! It is a bit of a give and take- The cool thing is that these clasps are very easy to make- and don't cost too much!

Stefan, maybe use a smaller diameter for the spirals - check out wigjig University for clasps - or harden a lighter wire (wigjig tells you how to do this) - your work is amazing! (R u sure you haven't done these before - maybe in a previous life?)

No tweet this is the first- HONEST! I have always been fascinated by beaded jewlery but being a man it just is not proper to wear it (corse as I get older I find that I care less and less) So if I can't wear it I finially decided to Make it- Oh and I just got some Nylon jawed pliers and they work great! Wait to you see this next clasp!--BYW I don't buy any findings- I guess I enjoy making them too much!
