Went rockin' last weekend and came across this specimen, grabbed it because it appeared to have a crystalline structure, was not at all expecting to get what I found.

My thoughts were it was going to look like some kind of metamorphic type structure but to my great surprise it was not. If anyone can better ID this I would appreciate it. I'm leaning to some type of quartzite as it is a crystalline material.

No matter what it ends up being, it is cool.

	Let's get this straight. I love rocks, LOVE THEM. There's a rock on my toilet, near the sink, near the fridge, on my windowsill, on my nightstand, on my desk, on top of my broken PC, next to me right now, and sometimes.... I wake up to a nice Lake Superior agate next to my pillow.

I'm in learning mode, I have stabbed it out to 3/16" thick, going to try my hand at cabbing. Never having done this before, I'm waiting until after the Des Moines gem and rock show on the 19th so I can see more hands on demonstrations. I have some less spectacular pieces to practice on. Thanks for letting me know what it might be.
