Here's my latest batch out. I am really pleased with the shine. They are much nicer than the pictures show. These were all polished in the generic polish I got from Alamo Rock Shop - PPP, I guess.
This first batch is the 1000 grit batch I did the 1000/Tripoli comparison on. I polished these in the vibe, the batch done in Tripoli are still iin the rotary.
This is a misc. batch of slabs. I know what some of them are, some I don't have any idea. The ones that are suitable I will use for jewelry, the ones not so nice I plan on using for the mosiac table I am working on.
Here we have some petrified palm wood, some of the green adventurine I got from Banjo last summer, some picture rocks. The big piece in the middle and 5 smaller ones on the bottom are pet wood from the Pet. Forest. This is some of the stuff that was collected by the Indians before the pet forest became a national park. Stoner and I are going in on a child head size chunk of this - if I ever get over there to pick it up.
Mex Lace, Brazilian agate, Laguna agate, a sliver of lace agate and below that, a piece montana agate I got from Glenn. The three transparent ones of the bottom I don't know, except I like them and think they will make some cool jewelry.
The triangle shape I am going to use for a pendeont with matching earrings. Don't know what this stone is, but I
love it. Also the one to the left of those. The big one under them is some of the quartz Cookie sent me. Also, parrot rock, snowflake obsidian, leopard skin, tiger eye, pet wood.
And these are three that didn't grab a shine at all. I really hate that because I love these stones. Esp. the one to the left. Going to try to give it a shine on the grinder.
Thaaaaat's all folks! Hope ya' enjoy them!
