I made this sign for a friend of mine that has a cafe. And if ya'lll think it's easy to write with rocks, think again! The board is aromatic cedar from East Texas. It looks brown in the pic but it's actually more red than brown. It is one of my favorite woods. There are a couple businesses around here that makes furniture with it and it's beautiful. Anyhoo, thought yall might like to see some rock writing. ;D llana

I think it turned out very well. The cedar will only look better with time.
I like to see new ways to use rocks after they are polished. Thanks for the post.

Hey, that's a neat idea, how did you attach them to the wood. I'll bet that cedar smells heavenly.

Thanks, ya'll. Wish I could get a few more order for signs - would help me use up some of the stones I have polished so I can make room for more. I have a cat litter box full of polished stones because I have filled up everything else I have with them and don't have any more room for pretty things to put rocks in. Cher, I loved sanding the board because it smell so wonderful. I also was covered with red dust! Can't smell it now because of the finish. Kim, I hope there are not alot of hands touching the rocks, or in a few months there might not be any rocks to touch! It is going to be hung over the order window so it should be out of reach for most people. I used E6000 glue. Don't know how it will hold being outside in the elements. The sign will be under ccover though. BE, I am taking it to her this afternoon. I think she will like it. llana
