Looks like Crazy Lace to me. Nice slab! Thanks! I really should write things down when I buy them. 😁

Yup, crazy lace. Should make a couple nice cabs. Crazy Lace it is, then. I found some pretty soft spots when I was grinding on it- I guess I just leave those as part of the cab and hope they survive the tumbler?

Here's the third cab I've shaped so far, I think I can get two more. Pic with a quarter to show the size, I wanted to leave this one a bit bigger because I love the colors and patterns. Thanks for looking.

I finished shaping the last two cabs from this slab last night. When I look at the picture of the second one it looks like there's a big crack down the middle- but I can't feel one, even with a fingernail. I think I'm going to just tumble it and see how it turns out- it's a fairly large one but I don't think I want to cut it up. I like the way it looks. I had "one of those nights" last night. Everything else that I tried to work fractured, then I'd try to fix what I had left and it would fracture also. A lot of dang pieces in the trash can this morning. Anyway, here's the cabs. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for looking! Those are both nice. I agree with roy. This material frequently has healed fractures that you are not gonna feel. Some have partially healed fractures that you may not feel, but may fracture anyway. It's a crap shoot. But, looking at yours, I think it is healed. Look at where the pattern comes together at the line. It's two different patterns. They probably came together a millenia ago or more and were cemented together like that. But, hey, I could be wrong. (insert shrug)

Thanks, rockjunquie and roy. Well, if they came together a millennia or more ago a few weeks in the tumbler should be ok!
