After trying to get one cab out of 3 pound piece of Pruheart agate I surrendered and threw in the towel after 5 cuts. fractures so bad the pieces will not even go into the tumbler. I had to go an with old faithful Pudding stone next just to cheer me up. The pudding stone is really awesome but this one is not mine. I am cutting as a favor for someone I met at a rock show last weekend. It was found near Alpena. Thanks for looking Chuck

That's a nice puddingstone. The best puddingstones are found in Alpena, I guess.

It was a great egg shaped specimen and he had a hard time deciding to get it cut. Should get about 15 slabs and I can tell right away these are about as good as it gets for jewelry. The matrix is very solid. Chuck

The pruheart is breathtaking I know your heart broken! I knew by looking at the outside that there was very little hope of any solid sections but I had to try. This is my first piece ever so I don't know if that is normal or not. Chuck

Chuck Chuck you just gather up a lot of those pieces parts and send them to me! I’ll put those babies in resin and use them for Chip Inlays in jewelry 😂 In my experience ( not with this particular stone cause I’ve never heard of it) any material can be crumbly. It just didn’t have all it needed when forming to become solid. Some goldsmith’s will disagree with me but resin is My Friend! I don’t tend to stabilize a lot of stones but in my Design Work I tend to be an outside the box thinker (one day my skill level will even catch up to my designs)! Pieces parts can be used for Inlay, chip mosaic inlay or heck even be epoxied to my deer skull I’ve had for two years I’ve been wanting to finish for my son 😂 creating with God’s nature is endless!!!

Resin and inlays are a wonderful thing. Like the idea of coating a deer skull with rock chips. I did it in the past once. More of a sand painting style on the deer skull.
