I really wanted to use those gauges for this piece and I wanted the curve on the top to be open. My original idea was to have the bail wires like that, so I know I needed a heavy gauge.

This is how it started. Fro that idea to finished piece, it was just a matter of making sure the stone was secure and it was symmetrical. Some of the 16g wraps were pretty tight, which made it tough on hands. I did leave a few small tool marks on this one. Tumbled for 3 hours.

I wanted to add an image but I can't do it in a reply, so I will post in next comment.
